The trail begins with very gradual elevation gain as it makes it way through numerous meadows filled with lush greenery. Ascend the scree and tundra to the obvious pass and then head up the ridge toward Wilson. There will be cliff bands that make the going slow and tedious and will push the hiker south toward Oweep and Garfield basins. In the end, we stumbled across the right combination of roads to reach Lunan Bay and were at least able to hike the beach to get close to the Castle.
